Referral picture we received in January 2002 upon finding out Rae-Rong Jin was going to be our daughter! We think she was about 4+ months old in this picture.


, Rae-Rong means auspicious/good omen and prosperous/flourishing in Chinese. Johanna Rachel means God is gracious and lamb.

We waited 14 months to get Johanna. Her daddy, mommy and sister flew to China on February 28th to get her. Early March she officially became ours! Hurray! Praise God! Our hearts are filled with thanksgiving to God for such a beautiful healthy-looking baby!
Johanna was placed in our arms in Nanchang, capital of Jiangxi Province. She arrived from a 5+ hour bus ride wearing five layers of clothes and no diapers (split pants). She would have nothing to do with Mommy (except to be fed) the first four days with us. Daddy had his arms full with holding her and Kaitlyn.
